3 Pakistani Startups Selected For Digital Winners Asia 2016

Pakistanis are exceeding in every field, so why not STARTUP? For all those who don’t know about startup I will just summarize it, “business that is typically technology oriented and has high growth potential”.

Three Pakistani startups have been selected to participate in Digital Winner Asia.

The event is to take place on 1 and 2 of November in Yangon, Myanmar. It is a regional startup event where they will be best startup teams from Telenor accelerator program across Asia.

Total nine teams are attending Digital Winners Asia from many countries like Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia and Thailand. The teams consist of current and past participants of Telenor’s five startup incubation and acceleration programs across the region.

The three selected Pakistani Startups are all set to compete for 100,000 Norwegian Kroner at the early funding stage.

The three start up are going to highlight three basic areas that need development, in Pakistan.

EcoEnergy

It goals are to solve energy crisis in Pakistan. It aims to provide a stable supply of electricity on all areas. In short it aims to make Pakistan a place where load shedding is not a problem anymore.

Edjunction

A social network connecting parents with teachers, is a mobile communication platform to bridge the gap between parents, teachers, students and the schools.

Fori Mazdoori

A Pakistani startup aiming to mobilize laborers across South Asia, to allow blue collar labors to get registers themselves. It aims for the rights of labors.

Two representatives from each company will participate in Digital Winners Asia. This inaugural year’s participants represent a diversity of industries: marketing services, energy, artificial intelligence and tour guiding.

The event has been programmed to promote cross border skill sharing and create peace and harmony among them. With these sort of events a friendly relation can be built that would be very beneficial for Pakistan’s economy and development.
