The company aims to launch some exciting new products premium smartphone with an edge-to-edge display “that lacks a surrounding bezel.”

Rubin will officially announce his company under the name of Essential and will be working as CEO of the company.

The company wants to compete with Apple’s iPhone 7, Samsung’s Galaxy S7, the Google Pixel, and other flagship mobile devices.

The launch is expected in middle of 2017.

Foxconn is expected to manufacture the devices.

The one product that is the center of attention is smaller than Apple’s phone the reason is that it has a nonexistent bezels. We should add here that it has 1 prototype phone that is larger than iPhone 7 Plus.

The detectors are added to the screen with a 3D touch feature to determine pressures exerted by people.

There’s even a modular component to this thing. From Bloomberg:

Essential’s engineers are developing a proprietary connector that serves double duty for charging the battery and expanding the phone’s functionality over time, one person familiar with the planning said. The magnetic connector would allow Essential or even third parties to create hardware accessories that add features to the smartphone. One of those add-ons is a 360-degree camera, the report claims.

A total of 40 people are made into 1 team that include former officials from Apple and Alphabet

A document has featured an unofficial logo.

The documents that are filed feature “mobile phones; smart phones; computers and tablet computers; accessories and replacement parts for all the goods; computer operating software for mobile phones, smart phones, computers and tablet computers.”

Rubin retired from Google in 2014  and focused on artificial intelligence since then. He is running some technology departments and technology startup incubators. These aim to fulfill the needs of consumers.

He is of the view, It has to be about data. That’s where robotics come in. Robots are walking mobile sensors, who can sense their environment and interact and learn from those interactions.”

The news in the media does not share any thing that Essential is now building. 2017 will surely bring new turns and ups and downs in the Android Smartphone and technology industry.
