Facebook for Developers Workshop Held in Lahore

Facebook has always connected people and keeping its aim in mind on November 3rd, 2016 a one day workshop was organized by Facebook for developers in association with PlanX.

The main objective of Facebook for developers is to help in monetizing the app. This program provides developers with what they can do in association with Facebook to enable them to share and grow their applications.

The Strategist Product Partnership at Facebook Mr. Sarim Aziz made the speech on this event saying, “There are lots of exciting products and services being built not just for the Pakistani market but others all over the world. We wanted to spend time with talent here to figure out how we solve problems and how we build products for engineers here this is the 6th Facebook for Developers workshop we’re having in the world and we see some good engagement here in Lahore.”

This was a twenty four hour workshop by Facebook; the attendees were guided by trainers from Facebook Product, Partnerships, and Engineering teams in tech talks, and updates on the latest Facebook Platform products.

That was important in building business and helping the rate of Facebook users to increase.

There were total 3 workshops. The first workshop was about Account Kit.

For explaining the usage and benefit and the real reason for making account kit Andrey Belokrylov, Software Engineer from the Facebook Platform Login team and Ethan Goldman-Kirst, Software Engineer Identify Tools Team were there.

The second workshop was delivered by Adnan Majeed, Software Engineer in the Traffic team at Facebook New York and Hasnain Lakhani Software Engineer, Program Analysis at Facebook California. This workshop guided people about how business deals are made over messenger and this would help the business flourish cross the border.

The final workshop was by React Native. It was delivered by Abdullah Jibaly Software Engineer Oculus at Facebook and Umair Sadiq, Software Engineer at Facebook in Large Scale Distributed Systems. React Native is designed to help developers learn transferable skills so they can write native applications in IOS and Android for JavaScript. It was to save time and use simple codes.

Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman Punjab IT Board made the closing thank you speech,

“We need one tech start-ups from Pakistan to go big and become a billion dollar company and we will see investment pouring into our ecosystem. Facebook coming to Pakistan and arranging workshops for developers is definitely a step in the right direction.”

These kind of events are greatly been held in Pakistan so we can see a positive change in technology and business
