Fiverr, the global freelance marketplace, has recently alerted its users about the ongoing internet disruptions across Pakistan, warning that these issues may cause delays in work from Pakistani freelancers.
In recent days, internet services across the country have been slow and unreliable, causing significant inconvenience to the public and adversely affecting various sectors, including the freelance industry.
The disruptions are reportedly linked to the installation of a new firewall system by authorities, aimed at regulating social media platforms. This has led to widespread frustration among users, who are struggling to carry out their daily activities due to the unstable internet connection.
Over the past few weeks, these internet disruptions in Pakistan have posed serious challenges for freelancers, making it difficult for them to meet project deadlines.
In response to the situation, Fiverr has taken proactive steps by marking Pakistani freelancers as temporarily unavailable. The platform issued a notification stating,
“We understand that internet disruptions in your area may be making it harder to maintain your routine. To prevent any unexpected order delays from affecting your ratings, we are temporarily setting your availability status and Gig(s) as unavailable.”
Fiverr reassured its users that this action would not negatively impact their ratings, emphasizing that the platform is committed to supporting its freelancers during this challenging time.
