At the heart of effective technology integration, technology offers opportunities to be more actively involved in learning experience.

According to this aim Muhammad Atif Khan, Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa announced that the government is looking forward to open 1300 IT labs in the province until the next elections.

During the E-Pakistan conference that was held at Sardhad University of Information technology on Saturday he said, “Information Technology has played an important role in development of the country. The KP government is taking measures to ensure its spread across the province. There were a total of 180 IT labs before the current ruling party (PTI) took charge and now the ruling party has established 500 IT labs in the province so far. They plan to establish another 500 IT labs by next year.”  He also praised the great efforts done by Sarhad University in extended E-Peshawar and E-Pakistan project.

Good and efficient education is one of the biggest problems of Pakistan. There are schools but teachers do not attend classes. Still in some rural areas the education is thought to be wastage of time and money. The schools are built and inauguration is done aiming to provide quality education and equality and after some days you find cow, goats and hens running all around in the school. Number of ghost schools is increasing day by day.

This step taken by the government of KPK is definitely of great benefit. Ensuring the establishment of more IT labs is admirable, but it will need trained and skilled teachers to make judicious use of those facilities. Nonetheless the effort is appreciable. It is expected to cost 1.5 billion to construct and equip the labs.

Technology can become a wing that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before- if we will allow it. Surely it is time when the country will soon become developed.
