Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has advised the federal government to get started on 5G right now.

PTA has recommended that work on 5G technology get underway in a letter to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. The letter requested that the federal government enact the 5G regulations and provide the go-ahead to all departments to begin their work.

MoITT and PTA want the 5G homework to be finished; at least three are needed for the employment of an international consultant. PTA will need to involve Pakistani embassies and overseas offices in order to advertise in foreign publications for the appointment of an international consultant. After the consultant is hired, the report preparation process takes more than six months.

The International will provide the PTA with a comprehensive report following consultation with all parties and operators. After examination, the federal government may ask the consultant to resurrect the study.

This homework is required if the government launches 5G, according to PTA sources. The timely deployment of 5G will be possible if the exercise, which will last six to nine months, is successful. Additionally, the work will provide a sense of what the sector and other stakeholders want. After receiving feedback from all interested parties, the MoITT released proposed 5G guidelines, on which a report was then submitted to the federal government.

Pakistan is already falling behind other nations in the area in the rollout of 5G, according to MoITT. Bangladesh and India have already started using 5G.

By June of 2019 the government hopes to have 5G operational. It is required to determine the spectrum bands and the cost of the spectrum, and development should begin. All of the groups will begin working on their individual components the day the federal government accepts the rules.

In its 5G networks, Canada has prohibited Huawei and ZTE equipment. The Canadian government made this judgement based on national security considerations. It went on to say that the suppliers might be forced to follow “extrajudicial orders from foreign governments” in ways that “conflict with Canadian laws or are damaging to Canadian interests.”

By June 28th, 2024, all telecom operators in the country must have removed all Huawei and ZTE-branded 5G equipment from their networks. The government has also set a deadline for the 4G equipment to be removed by the end of 2027.

“The Government is dedicated to maximising the social and economic benefits of 5G and universal access to telecoms services,” the Canadian government said in a statement.

It’s worth noting that US telcos are spending billions of dollars removing and replacing network equipment. Huawei’s equipment is likewise prohibited in the United Kingdom. On national security reasons, Australia and New Zealand have similarly limited the use of their technology.

China’s National Intelligence Law is the reason for this prohibition. All of these countries believe that Chinese tech giants like Huawei and ZTE will give the Chinese government vital information from international networks.

Huawei, on the other hand, rejected this report, claiming that:

“China will conduct a thorough and thorough investigation into this event and take all necessary steps to protect Chinese enterprises’ lawful rights and interests.”

It took Canada three years to make a decision on whether or not to utilise Huawei and ZTE equipment in its telecom networks.

Pakistan becomes the first country to test the 5G network. The news was confirmed by the State Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Anusha Rehman. Not only will this but by the end of the year 2020, Pakistan become the first country to launch its 5G service.

The new in this news:

1) The 4G spectrum license sold for $295 million.
2) 10% advance tax from JAZZ Communications added to the bid price for a total of $300 million.
3) Broadband penetration has improved from 3% to 29%.
4) 5G technology is 40 times faster than 4G.

According to the minister, Pakistan is the first ever country to test the 5G technology services and after some years in 2021 it will launch 5G technology network service too.

Anusha Rehman said,

“Through the Ministry’s spokesperson Saghair Watto that preparations were underway to ensure that the technology was rolled out fast enough to reap its benefits.”

According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA),

“Mobile internet users in the country have grown significantly in the numbers and reached a record 40.56 million active mobile internet users by the end of April 2017.”

Saghair Watto,

“It would be great to make sure that the various beneficiaries such as industries, the government, companies, and individual users will all realize faster working rates. With speeds of up to 40 times faster than the 4G network, 5G networks will have a huge impact on the country as a whole (5G has a capacity of up to 10 Gigabits per second).”

Internet has changed the lives of people. It has made communication easier. From shopping online to chatting with people overseas, everything on internet is just one click away. This is the reason, telecommunication industries are planning out services that are fast so that the user experience can be accelerated and people can enjoy the better service.

Anusha Rehman also added,

“At the penetration of broadband in the country has increased from 3 percent to 29 percent in a very short while.”

The initiative has been taken after the authorities have seen the huge increase of internet users after the availability of 4G network in Pakistan. The 4G network has gained popularity overnight and is praised by people all over Pakistan. To make the internet service better, the authorities are planning to test an even faster and efficient network 5G technology.
