Warren Buffett resigned as trustee of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. A few weeks ago, Bill and Melinda Gates announced that they had divorced after 27 years of marriage, but they would continue to run the foundation together, which is one of the largest charitable foundations in the United States in the world.

Gates was the richest man in the world before, and his wealth is estimated to exceed 100 billion US dollars. “For many years, I have been a trustee (non-active trustee) of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMG), the single recipient of my funds. I am now resigning from this position, just like I was doing Kirill Hathaway,” Buffett said in a prepared statement on Wednesday.

“The CEO of BMG is Mark Suzman, and he recently received my full support from an outstanding candidate. My goals are 100% synchronized with the goals of the Foundation, and my physical involvement is not necessary to achieve these under any circumstances. ”

Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Buffett also said on Wednesday that he has achieved his goal of giving up all of his shares in the group, and he will make another $4.1 billion in donations.

Buffett did not give a reason for resigning from the Gates Foundation, but after the Bill Gates report, people questioned his leadership structure and workplace behavior. It was recently revealed that Microsoft’s board members made a decision in 2020 that the company’s co-founder Gates was not suitable to serve as a board member because they investigated the billionaire’s previous relationship with a Microsoft employee who was deemed inappropriate.

He said he did not investigate the media allegations because the incident reportedly involving one of the world’s largest and most influential non-profit organizations was carried out by “an anonymous former employee”.

And Buffett is 90 years old and has begun to leave his leadership positions at Berkshire Hathaway and other company boards. This year, Buffett said he will resign as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Buffett said on Wednesday that although he still loves his job: “Obviously, I am playing a game that for me has entered overtime from the fourth quarter.”

It has been three years since Forbes has introduced its Richest in Tech list and for the very first time people altogether have crossed a trillion mark. The cumulative worth is surprising.

Forbes is a business magazine and it develops annual lists ranking people from different fields according to their wealth.

As compared to last year the cumulative wealth has increased b 21% this year.

Bill Gates seems un-defeatable here. Topping the list he still remains the richest in tech with a total fortune of $85.4 billion that has increased by $6.5 billion.

Jeff Bezos lands on the second place with th total worth of  $81.7 billion. The third name is not a surprise, Mark Zuckerberg with a total worth of  $69.6 billion is also the 5th youngest on the list.

Asians are not behind. They make one third of the list. Jack Ma is on the seventh place in richest tech billionaires list and has a total fortune of $37.4 billion.

Other names on the list include Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk, Facebook’s lesser known co-founder Eduardo Saverin, and the founder of Xiaomi Lei Jun who saw a drop of $2.9 billion in his net worth.

Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick also saw a drop of $1.2 billion in his fortune, following a series of scandals that have hit the ride-hailing startup. Snapchat’s co-founder Evan Spiegel made it back to the list with a net worth of $3.2 billion. He is also the youngest person on the list.

Six women managed to make it to Forbes richest tech billionaires list. Their cumulative worth is $27.6 billion.

The super-rich can achieve returns that are not available to the ordinary saver, helping the gap to grow between the wealthy and everyone else. The bigger the initial investment, the higher returns one can make as the initial costs of sophisticated advice and high-risk investments can be justified with the potential for super-lucrative returns.”
