e-stamping project by Punjab Information Technology Board has bagged Rs.30.243 billion since its launch.

The program supports electronic stamps for judicial and non judicial purposes.

The strategy was applauded by everyone as it brought a positive change and betterment. The manual work used to be long and tiring process. The e-stamping system has made it easier, hassle-free, less time consuming and efficient.

On a average the old manual system usually bagged about Rs.20 billion to Rs. 22 billion per annum. With e-stamping the collection has raised to Rs. 30.243 billion over a year.

e-stamping was introduced one year ago and since then 1,246,600 have used the system.

Of the 1,180,414 e-stamp papers that were issued using the new system in the first year include 78,015 are judicial. 1,102,399, non judicial e-stamp papers contribute to the number.

The Chairman of PITB, Dr. Umar Saif was really pleased with the system. According to him

“The previous system was more than 100 years old and it had been a difficult system to execute compared to the new system.”

He further added,

“The new system will make it easier to serve the citizens given its focus on innovative ways of issuing e-stamps. The system will benefit both the citizens and the government by streamlining the operations of both parties. This new system also does a great job at avoiding any malpractices that were common while using the old system.”

The e-stamping is to change or combat the crime related to money and land. In the old stamping system that was introduced by British colonial masters in 1899 that makes it about 117 years old, the cases like long queues, agent mafia, fraud, forgery and many other issues were prominent. The step was taken to stop these activities.

E-stamping project process is quick as is is all based on technology influencing our lives. The authenticity of the e-stamp paper can be verified by NADRA via sending an SMS with the names of the buyer, the seller and the CNIC.

The applicant then receives a challan form which will be paid at a Bank of Punjab or National Bank branch. The bank will then issue the stamp to the applicant.

Judicial e-Stamp paper is launched today in entire Punjab. These are the combined efforts of The Punjab Government and Punjab Information Technology Board, Pakistan.

The first paper was issued today at the Bank of Punjab Civil Lines Branch, Lahore.

Before this the non-judicial e-stamping was adopted in 36 districts of Punjab.

This will increase efficiency and speed because now the stamps will be issued within 10-15 minutes.

As per PITB’s guidance the Non-Judicial or Judicial e-Stamp papers can be received from any branch of Bank of Punjab after filling requisite challan 32-A form using the e-Stamping portal. The e-Stamping system employs online digital technology to issue non-judicial and judicial stamp papers.

The stamps are important for their relation with administration of justice in courts.

This is easy, convenient and above all time saving.
