Civic Fellowship Program is all set to receive applications from willing participants. Back in 2014 the KP IT Board, Code For Pakistan and The World Bank joined hands to introduce the Civic Fellowship Program. The round 2017 is about to start and the authorities have called out for applications.

Basically, the program is for 6 months. A team of talented researchers, creative designers, hard working community organizers, and efficient developers will be formed so that they can work together to come up with some great ideas and provide amazing services.

The program aims to development thus it demands for services like building apps, improve government, promote citizen engagement and to think and demonstrate ideas to innovate in public services.

If you think you have abilities and you can achieve something from the program you must submit your application soon. Remember that it is a fellowship program and you get paid for it for whole six months.

The previous cycles of the fellowship program have been a great success and this event is hoped to be even larger and successful.

According to the authorities there are several rules one needs to follow to take part.

1) The candidate should have least 16 years of education from an HEC recognized university having experience in one of the following categories:

• Front end Development,
• Backend Development,
• Mobile Application Development,
• Desktop Application Development
• Graphic Designing.

2) The candidate should have at least 1 year experience in the relevant field.

3) The candidate should be able to spare 40 hours/week for 6 months after induction.

4) The last date to apply is 31st January, 2017. Any application obtained after the due date would not be entertained.

5) The candidate needs to apply online. Applications received through any other channel would not be entertained.

Keeping this as the aim Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) plans to organize the largest Tech Event of the Year.

Get ready for the Digital Youth Summit 2017.

It is expected that this is going to be a better experience. It is of great importance for all the young people who want to choose the field of entrepreneurs and IT.

The 2017 (DYS) Digital Youth Summit will be held from 5thMay- 7th.

This three day event will be full of activities and experience. It will be attended by everyone concerned with the fields. From successful entrepreneurs to young startups all will be present and would interact with each other.
DYS is an effort of the Government of KP, native partners and global agencies.

It aims to develop a platform for youth, about tech entrepreneurship and digital occupation as possible replacements to customary jobs. It also aims to bring together the talented young people so that their ideas could fly and take a new start.

It is event full of knowledge with fun and it’s not only for the tech community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also of Pakistan and afar.

A reputation is more valuable than money. KPK’s Information Technology Board had announced The Digital Freelancer Awards 2016-2017. These awards will be first of their kind in Pakistan.

As the market of individual professionals who deal with millions of customers all by themselves is growing, so to appreciate them and promote this field KPK’s government has announced Digital Freelancers Awards.

The KPITB has announced Digital Freelancers Awards to the freelancers working on different platforms in different districts. Freelancers from other provinces will be awarded as well. The awards will be awarded in a ceremony held in Peshawar.

KPK has already been working with freelancers.  A government funded training session trained about 2,100 people who after successful session started working in different sectors in KPK and contributed through their skills for the development of the country. Now it is time for the reward.

The categories for awards are:

• Top three digital freelancers from KPK
• Top three digital freelancers from across Pakistan
• Special awards for female digital freelancers
• Top three female digital freelancers from KPK
• Top three female digital freelancers from across Pakistan
• YEP (Emerging freelancers who attended the KPITB’s Youth Employment Program sessions)
• Youngest freelancer
• Three freelancers to be selected randomly by the Chief Guest
