ISLAMABAD – Pakistani tech companies participating in the prestigious LEAP 2025 conference in Riyadh are set to make a significant impact, with expectations of securing $50 million in business deals at the global tech event, according to the chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA).

Now in its fourth edition, LEAP has become Saudi Arabia’s premier global technology event, drawing over 170,000 visitors, investors, and entrepreneurs. This year’s conference, running until February 12, is themed “Into New Worlds” and aims to expand networking and investment opportunities in the tech sector.

Pakistan’s Growing IT Presence on the Global Stage

Pakistan’s tech industry is experiencing rapid growth, with IT exports reaching a record $348 million in December 2024, marking a 15% year-on-year increase. The LEAP conference serves as a vital platform for Pakistani IT firms to showcase their expertise in software development, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, fintech, gaming, and robotics.

“This year, we have one of our largest delegations at LEAP, with over 100 companies and more than 1,000 delegates participating,” said Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman of P@SHA, speaking from Riyadh.
“With this strong presence, we aim to double our business and generate $50 million in deals.”

Several leading Pakistani IT firms, including Systems Limited, Abacus, and Excellence Delivered, are attending the event alongside 20 startups sponsored by P@SHA and additional companies supported by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). Many Pakistani firms have also joined independently.

Saudi Investors Show Interest in Pakistani Tech

Ahead of LEAP’s inauguration, Pakistani firms participated in the Pakistan-Saudi Business Forum, where Saudi investors responded positively to their offerings.

“There is growing excitement about Pakistan’s IT industry,” said Syed.
“We are no longer at an entry-level stage—Pakistan is now a recognized force in the global tech landscape, especially in AI and cybersecurity.”

Former P@SHA Chairman Muhammad Zohaib Khan, whose company A2Z Creatorz is participating in LEAP, emphasized the event’s role in helping Pakistani firms expand in Saudi Arabia.

“Our participation in LEAP 2024 led to 25 Pakistani companies registering in the Kingdom and securing major business deals,” he shared.
“This year, we expect even more companies to establish a presence in Saudi Arabia.”

Pakistan’s Commitment to Strengthening Saudi Tech Ties

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, highlighted the importance of LEAP in fostering collaboration between both nations.

“The participation of over 100 Pakistani IT companies at LEAP 2025 is a testament to Pakistan’s growing influence in the global technology sector,” he said.
“Pakistan is offering cutting-edge solutions in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development, positioning itself as a key player in digital transformation.”

To reinforce ties, Ambassador Farooq hosted a networking dinner in Riyadh, bringing together over 400 business leaders, investors, and technology experts.

LEAP 2025: A Global Tech Hub for Innovation

LEAP 2025 aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to transform the country into a global technology powerhouse, with the Kingdom pledging $100 billion toward its tech sector.

This year’s event features new segments, including Tech Arena for emerging innovations and a SportsTech stage. Highlights include:

AI-driven assistant “SARA” by Saudi oil giant Aramco

Adobe’s “Project Primrose” digital dress technology

Terra Drone’s long-range medical delivery system

XPANCEO’s smart contact lenses with integrated computing

Engine VR’s Golden Gloves boxing platform, with live demos by UFC fighter Andrew Sanchez

With Pakistan’s expanding role in the global tech industry, its participation at LEAP 2025 underscores its potential for strategic partnerships and business growth in Saudi Arabia.
