Samsung Display’s LCD manufacturing operation will be shut down abruptly next month. The shutdown had been planned for December this year, but it might potentially come as early as the end of June, according to the Korean internet giant.

According to sources with insider knowledge, Samsung’s competition has been fierce, and the business wants to avoid further losses. Samsung Display will focus on producing OLED and Quantum Dot (QD) panels in the future, with all personnel from the LCD division expected to be relocated to the QD division.

According to previous data from Display Supply Chain Consultants, the price of LCD panels is just 36.6 percent of what it was in 2014, when production was at its height. BOE, a Chinese display manufacturer, and AU Optronics, a Taiwanese display manufacturer, are also offering clients lower prices.

Samsung had planned to exit the LCD market in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic heightened the demand for home entertainment on low-cost devices such as inexpensive TVs and smartphones. As a result, Samsung was compelled to postpone this significant move.

Samsung executives have yet to react to a request for comment, but we anticipate to learn more about the shutdown’s financial ramifications in July when the company releases its second quarter earnings report.

Samsung downplayed a report claiming that the company has stopped producing the upcoming Galaxy S21 FE phone. South Korean publication ETNews claimed over the weekend that the production of this phone was stopped without notice due to semiconductor shortages and that Qualcomm processors had been reallocated to foldable devices.

The report has been deleted, and Samsung has now stated that it has not yet made a decision on whether to stop production.

In a statement sent to Bloomberg via text message, the company stated: “Although we cannot discuss the details of the unreleased product, we have not yet made any determination on the so-called discontinuation.”

Galaxy S21 FE (FE stands for Fan Edition) is expected to be It is a more affordable version of the ordinary S21.

Last year, Dieter Bohn gave a positive review of the Galaxy S20 FE, noting that it has some pleasant high-quality components, and cheaper components will not have much impact on the experience. S21 FE has not been officially announced.

But Samsung said at an event last year that it plans to launch a fan version of its flagship phone in the future. OnLeaks released a rendering of what is said to be the S21 FE in April, showing a design similar to the popular Galaxy S21.

It is worth noting that Samsung did not completely deny the ETNews report, but it may take a while for the truth to be revealed. The S20 FE was not announced until September last year and was launched in October, so even if Samsung is now experiencing supply chain issues with its successor, it may not be launched soon.

Charges of corruption have been proven correct on Lee-Jae-Yong. He was the vice chairman of Samsung. He has been found guilty bribery and embezzlement.

The court has given the verdict against him and he has been sent to prison for five years.  The hearing was on Friday in Seoul Central District Court. During the hearing the vice chairman was found guilty of corruption. The verdict was the part of corruption scandal that brought down exiled and former South Korean President Park Geun-Hye.

The experts are of the view that without  Lee-Jae-Yong the company can face problems like mismanagement and loss of key investments. He is the father of Lee Kun-Hee, who is the chairman of Samsung Group. His grandfather was the founder of the tech giant. He started the korean company “Republic of Samsung”. Samsung is fourth dominating firm of Asia.

The convicted chairman was presented in court with ropes around jacket. The sources revealed that he was charged about bribing ex-President Park for the help  to secure control of a conglomerate that owns Samsung Electronics.

It is the world’s most popular smartphone and chip maker, and has interests ranging from drugs and home appliances to insurance and hotels.

Seoul Central District Court Judge Kim Jin-dong said,

“This case is a matter of Lee Jae-yong and Samsung Group executives, who had been steadily preparing for Lee’s succession … bribing the president.”

He further said,

“Lee has been benefiting the most from the political favours for the company. One of his lawyers, Song Wu-cheol, said that he would appeal.”

According to Song, ”

“The entire guilty verdict is unacceptable. I am confident if the matter will be taken to higher court, my client’s innocence would be confirmed. “

We can hope that the Samsung Vice Chairman Jailed case will be challenged in Supreme Court next year.

The decision has finally come. It turned out to be in favor of Samsung. The case started when Samsung was blamed for copying Apple’s design. Samsung wins the patent battle.

The case was heard in US lower court and the decision was against Samsung. They had to pay total plenty of $399 million to Apple for copying its iPhone design. It was said that Apple’s design of rectangular front face with rounded edges and a grid of colorful icons on a black screen.

The verdict of lower court was challenged in the Supreme Court of USA. The court made its decision in favor of Samsung now it does not need to pay penalty.

There is law that if a company earns profit using design of some other company the whole profit will be given to the party who originally owns the design
The thing here to be noted is that though Supreme Court has made a decision but it has sent case back to lower court for further hearings.

Apple commented on this,

“We will continue to protect the years of hard work that has made iPhone the world’s most innovative and beloved product. We remain optimistic that the lower courts will again send a powerful signal that stealing isn’t right.”

Samsung said,
