Anti-Trump? Well you can’t visit America then. A new system ensures all immigrants to mention their social handles so an officer could stare through them and determine whether you are worthy enough to visit America, that means you are a Trump supporter. As per the reports of PC magazine, the immigrants need not to provide their passwords but to just submit the details.

US approves social media background checks for visa applicants. Yes! Its true, Donald Trump ordered to check social media posts before allowing visitors entry in USA. The security control is aimed at screening out bad guys, guys with suspicious ideas, but we all know the truth. Trump intends to prevent the increase of opposition to him.

Well this is a direct attack on freedom of speech, but we have a suggestion for all Anti-Trump immigrants. These social media background checks can be trouble for your futures visits to US. Keep in mind its very important, keep eyes on your social media posts, friends and also which groups you have join.

Be careful next time accepting unknown friend requests and groups you have joined. Also follow and like pages which are only with good reputation.

Just delete all your posts regarding Trump before handling over your details. Problem solved. Thank me later!

Trump might land into a major problem. Tech giants like Apple, Google and Microsoft a joining hands to out stand the ban on seven Muslim majority countries that was implemented by Trump.

A legal file was generated on Sunday, in presence if tech giants that featured that Trumps decision “inflicts significant harm on American business.”

The 9th circuit of brief that was filed in US Court of Appeals included big names like Facebook, Twitter and Intel. It also included names of non-tech companies such as Levi Strauss and Chobani. The 100 names also included eBay, Netflix and Uber. The hundred firms signed onto the brief.

Trumps travel ban policy might now face some serious legal troubles.

To give justification of the move, Trump’s administration has been left with very few days. The last day is Friday.

The brief stated,

“The Order represents a significant departure from the principles of fairness and predictability that have governed the immigration system of the United States for more than fifty years.”

It further read,

“The Order inflicts significant harm on American business, innovation, and growth as a result,” it added.

“Immigrants or their children founded more than 200 of the companies on the Fortune 500 list.”

According to the buzz the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals that is in San Francisco, denied the request of stay by administration of Trump.

Tech companies in US are standing against the decision to show their sympathies and support for the seven countries.

According to court, “It would reconsider the government’s request after receiving more information.”

Some are calling it ‘constitutional crisis’ the others name it ‘a week of turmoil in United States’. It’s just one week from the day president took oath officially. The Trump has introduced several immigration reforms that are giving rise to controversies. The reforms aim to ban on asylum seekers from seven Muslim countries, provoking nationwide protests.

Adding here, we don’t need to remind anyone that a whole four year period of Trump’s presidency is still left. It is just the beginning of his rule. So, we can consider his reforms just a trailer of the actual movie that will release part by part in the upcoming tenure.

Believe when I say that his administration is all set to make another controversial decision. The reforms that are been announced include reforming the H-1B high-skilled Visas.

According to the stats the H-1B visa program has a cap of 85,000 visas annually. The program is working for several years now and according to subscription charts, the program is over-subscribed.

People have been trying to ask for reform but certainly not like ones Trump administration is planning to make.

The draft if the order is ready and a passage from the “Immigration Executive Order” reads,

“Our country’s immigration policies should be designed and implemented to serve, first and foremost, the U.S. national interest. Visa programs for foreign workers … should be administered in a manner that protects the civil rights of American workers and current lawful residents, and that prioritizes the protection of American workers — our forgotten working people — and the jobs they hold.”

H-1B high-skilled Visas reforms will mainly affect tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Silicon Valley. Till now there is no news about any sort of changes in the program but if we look at what Trump’s idea of ‘America first’ is, surely the reforms will affect growth and success of the companies and this can cause serious dispute among the companies and government.

It is not a surprise. Even before Trump took the oath it was expected that he would make certain changes that won’t be liked by many. Still the news of such reforms has taken the internet by storm. From the trolls to serious discussions everyone has something or the other to say about his reforms.

Being Pakistanis we should take the H-1B high-skilled Visas reforms seriously. It cautions towards the high chances of Pakistan to be banned along other countries.

About H-1B Program

H-1B is a non-immigrant visa in the United States. The program aims to employ foreigners temporarily in U.S., Technology companies are the ones that use the program most to bring startups to the country. Startups use the program too. This way they find talent from other countries and call them to serve in their firms. This not only benefits the employers but employees too.

Mobile calling app Viber is going to offer free calls between United States and the countries that are under the travel ban recently implemented by Trump. It will do so by Viber Out.

The seven countries that came under the ban include Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya and Yemen. Once the service is launched the users of Viber will easily connect to users in these seven countries via free calls to landlines and mobiles. Another initiative is that the users from the seven countries will also be able to make free calls.

Hiroshi Mikitani , the CEO of Rakuten statement on twitter,

I am very sad to see what is happening now in the US. I came to US when I was seven and I really respect big American big heart.

— 三木谷浩史 H. Mikitani (@hmikitani) January 30, 2017

Remember that, Rakuten acquired Viber for $900 million in 2014.

COO of Viber, Michael Shmilov said,

“Viber has always been committed to enabling people to connect freely and securely whenever and wherever they are. Under the current circumstances, we feel obligated to enable our users to remain close even when apart.”

On Viber website a statement reads:

“In light of recent events in the United States, we are now offering free calls to any landline or mobile number between the United States and Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen so that those affected will now have one less barrier to cross when trying to reach their loved ones.”

It is not just Viber who is taking a step to solve communication problems of the countries that came under the Trump’ controversy of sudden executive order. Lyft will donate $1 million to the American Civil Liberties Union. The CEO of Airbnb and the co-founder Brian Chesky mentioned that they will work to solve housing problems. Google also created a $2 million crisis fund after coming out against the executive order.

This seems like really a positive gesture.
