The digital channels will be accessible everywhere for free. The project will assist MoFEPT in moving closer to digitalizing the educational system for increased effectiveness and enhanced learning.
“The arrangement with PTCL is an essential step toward the digitalization of Pakistan’s educational system based on the newest learning and tutoring methodologies,” Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training spokesperson Rana Tanveer Hussain stated during the ceremony.
“We think the time is right for such initiatives because cellphones are widely used countrywide and fast internet is available even in distant areas. We are happy to have PTCL as a collaborative partner since they share our aim for this innovative project to enhance learning in society. We will investigate the possibilities for expanding the scope and reach of this effort for a lasting and deeper impact because digitalization is the future, he continued.
The 04 OTT educational channels would be fully free of charge so that students from all socioeconomic backgrounds may access the educational material without the need for a subscription, said Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, Additional Secretary MoFEPT, in a speech at the event.
“This action will have a big impact on the nation’s socioeconomic progress. Additionally, the project advances MOFEPT’s ongoing efforts to promote social good for Pakistani citizens, he continued.
Zarrar Hasham Khan, Group Chief Business Solutions Officer, PTCL & Ufone, commented on the agreement, stating that “PTCL is the largest ICT services provider with footprint across Pakistan and being a company playing a pivotal role in driving digital transformation revolution in the country, needs partners to boost education sector.”
