PTCL is dialing up its digital game. Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, the country’s top telecom and ICT provider, has inked a strategic partnership with DWP Technologies to power a major upgrade of its data centre infrastructure—bringing in cutting-edge solutions from Dell Technologies.

In a move that marks a key milestone in PTCL’s digital transformation journey, the upgrade will roll out software-driven enterprise and mid-tier storage platforms, boosting scalability, speed, and operational efficiency across its network.

The official signing ceremony took place in Islamabad, featuring industry heavyweights including Jafar Khalid (Group CTO, PTCL & Ufone 4G), Rohail Bashir (COO, DWP Technologies), and senior delegates from PTCL Group, DWP, and Dell.

At the core of this transformation is a robust three-site active-active metro architecture, designed to ensure nonstop service, even in the face of localized failures. Meanwhile, PTCL’s existing mission-critical platform—spanning three sites and utilizing enterprise-grade SRDF replication—will remain fully operational during the transition, ensuring uninterrupted business continuity.

But that’s not all—this upgrade is also about going greener and leaner. The new setup is expected to slash PTCL’s data centre footprint, cut down on power and cooling needs, and ultimately drive cost savings and energy efficiency.

This bold step reflects PTCL’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve, embracing innovation, and building future-ready infrastructure to better serve Pakistan’s growing digital demands.

PTCL is Pakistan’s largest information communication technology and entertainment service provider. It has users in million who are joined through the broadband and digital television services of PTCL.

There are very less companies for whom customer satisfaction is more important than any profit and this telecommunication operator continues to achieve customer satisfaction. As a result, they have collaborated with Netflix to provide high quality streaming content to its users in Pakistan.

Netflix is the leading internet television network in the world. And one of the best things about Netflix is that you can watch movies, documentaries, original series, featured films and a lot more without commercials that saves time. Netflix has more than 86 million countries in as many as 190 countries. Users enjoy over 125 million hours of TV shows and movies on daily basis.

PTCL has become the first telecommunication operator in Pakistan to ink a collaboration agreement with Netflix for the Pakistan market.

Under the agreement, Netflix that has just come into partnership with PTCL recently will extend its services in Pakistan. In addition, both PTCL and Netflix will look to utilize their individual resources for mutual benefit besides maximizing and augmenting the viewing experience of the public. This is one of the important agreements of this year that has aimed to provide customers for non-stop entertainment. So gird up your loin to be entertained fully as the contract between the two companies will benefit the users in Pakistan in many ways. It will also serve as a way forward to provide digital content in the country with the streaming of Netflix. It is worth mentioning that PTCL will promote and encourage original firsthand Netflix content in Pakistan.

Here there is one thing to remember that since Netflix’s global launch earlier this year, PTCL becomes the only service provider for the young Netflix, in the country with progressive caching servers and technical pairing. This will have a serious impact in terms of superior viewing experience.

People associated with this agreement could not resist talking about it to the media.

Vice President Business Development for Asia at Netflix, Tony Zameczkowski said,

“We are excited to partner with PTCL in Pakistan and are looking forward to providing high quality entertainment content for the Pakistani consumers”

PTCL’s Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Shahid also commented on the agreement and said:

“Digital entertainment is PTCL’s key priority and our partnership with Netflix is another step in this direction. We look forward to working with Netflix to offer new and exciting services including world class Netflix original series and movies in Pakistan”

So everyone wait for the services and enjoy.
