Alibaba founder Jack Ma says in 30 years people will only work fours hours a day
In next 3 decades people will only work for 4 hours a day. Is that so? At least for now, Jack Ma, the founder of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba just claimed that according to him in the next 30 years people will not work more than 4 hours a day.
Alibaba Group is the company that aims to bring its users the products from all over the world on one platform for buying and selling. During an interview with CNBS in Detroit while attending the Gateway 17 conference for entrepreneurs he said, “I believe that in the next 30 years’ people will only work for 4 hours a day and possibly only 4 days a week.”
Alibaba founder explained,
“My grandfather worked 16 hours a day in the farmland and [thought he was] very busy. We work eight hours, five days a week and think we are very busy.”
This is not the first time that such prediction has gone viral. Earlier in 1930, one of the famous economist John Maynard Keynes said that by the 2030 people will work 15 hours a week because of increasing automation.
Jack also predicted that the number of trips and vacations would increase. He said,
“Normal people visit, like, 30 places. Thirty years later, they will probably visit 300 places.”
He added, “the next 30 years is going to be painful.”
Jack further added,
“People will reap the benefits of Artificial intelligence (AI) and therefore will have more time to travel. The 52-year-old founder did, however, warn us that humans need to be careful with AI otherwise there is going to be trouble.”
While talking about automation Jack said, “More things get automated, the fewer people will work.”
He further Alibaba founder added, “The first technology revolution caused World War I. The second technology revolution caused World War II. This is the third technology revolution.”
Moreover Jack said,
“We should make sure the machine can do things that human beings cannot do, and we have to prepare now. Because the next 30 years is going to be painful.”
When asked that in between the war of Humans and Machines which according to him would win. He said, “Humans.”
