National Information Technology Board Successfully implemented ‘E-Office’
The National Information Technology Board (NITB) focuses on essential automation, design, development, and deployment of strong IT solutions to support the Federal Government’s e-governance culture.
The Federal Government’s Electronic Filing System (E-Office) has been effectively implemented by NITB in all 40 Ministries/Divisions.
This enormous assignment was assigned to Syed Hussnain Abbas Kazmi, Acting Executive Director, NITB, who not only implemented new solutions on time, but also organised multiple full-day Capacity Building Training seminars for E-Office users from all Federal Ministries and Divisions. The E-Office has not only saved the government millions of dollars, but it has also taken a significant step toward a paperless environment.
In the second phase, NITB will begin implementing E-Office in a number of federal ministries’ departments. Under the present leadership of the Ministry of IT & Telecom and NITB, the powerful e-Cabinet Portal has changed paper-based cabinet meeting procedures into a completely paperless environment through a secure digital system.
Since its most recent use, it has saved almost 70 million rupees. Following the Federation’s successful implementation of the E-Cabinet portal, the province governments of Baluchistan and Sindh have requested the same solution from NITB for their provincial Cabinets. By August 2022, NITB hopes to have completed its rollout in Sindh and Baluchistan.
