vivo Donated 10 million Rupees for the Flood Relief Fund
Approximately three times more monsoon rains than the 30-year normal are currently falling in Pakistan, causing unmanageable landslides and significant flooding throughout the region. This natural calamity has had an impact on more than 33 million people.
In these challenging times, vivo Pakistan gave 10 million rupees to flood victims through the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Funds 2022, demonstrating its solidarity with that country.
In these trying times, multinational corporations like vivo are setting an example by giving back to the community. Vivo recently shared a message on social media encouraging people to stick together and express their support for Pakistan through trying times.
More than one million homes have been damaged or destroyed by these floods, leaving 3.1 million people without a home and in grave risk. With dreadful consequences for the entire country, this year’s greatest flood has also swept away cattle and destroyed over two million acres of food crops.
It is heartbreaking how more than 1,000 people have died as a result of flash flooding since mid-June, including more than 300 children. There are worries that these figures may keep rising in the upcoming weeks.
In situations like this, we should all step up and do our best to assist the affected parties. We are also a little relieved to see organisations like vivo aiding the flood victims and standing with the country.
