PTCL Teams Up with DWP Technologies for Major Data Centre Upgrade Powered by Dell
PTCL is dialing up its digital game. Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, the country’s top telecom and ICT provider, has inked a strategic partnership with DWP Technologies to power a major upgrade of its data centre infrastructure—bringing in cutting-edge solutions from Dell Technologies.
In a move that marks a key milestone in PTCL’s digital transformation journey, the upgrade will roll out software-driven enterprise and mid-tier storage platforms, boosting scalability, speed, and operational efficiency across its network.
The official signing ceremony took place in Islamabad, featuring industry heavyweights including Jafar Khalid (Group CTO, PTCL & Ufone 4G), Rohail Bashir (COO, DWP Technologies), and senior delegates from PTCL Group, DWP, and Dell.
At the core of this transformation is a robust three-site active-active metro architecture, designed to ensure nonstop service, even in the face of localized failures. Meanwhile, PTCL’s existing mission-critical platform—spanning three sites and utilizing enterprise-grade SRDF replication—will remain fully operational during the transition, ensuring uninterrupted business continuity.
But that’s not all—this upgrade is also about going greener and leaner. The new setup is expected to slash PTCL’s data centre footprint, cut down on power and cooling needs, and ultimately drive cost savings and energy efficiency.
This bold step reflects PTCL’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve, embracing innovation, and building future-ready infrastructure to better serve Pakistan’s growing digital demands.
