Edhi Foundation website hacked – Be careful to donate through PayPal
Edhi Foundation has served the orphans for long. The donations can be made online via many ways determined by the authorities.
According to the buzz, recently, the website of the foundation was hacked and he donations made via PayPal account were directed to some other unknown account. The PayPal account was linked with the official website of the foundation but it seems the whole system was hacked and the money was withdrawn by someone else.
The website at the moment reads:
“We Don’t Accept Payment through PayPal on Website Kindly Make a Refund If Any of You Pay Donation to Any PayPal Account”.
The whole story is that the hacker hacked the website and collected funds in his or her PayPal account.
Going into the problem and looking at the situation more precisely, it was found that under the donate button where all the banks have been listed, there was a newly added button of paying via PayPal. If clicked, the button leads to the following page:
The ting of concern or rather o ponder upon is that the fake donations button is still on the website and why the authorities have not removed it or why they have no taken any action against it?
After being reported to Edhi foundation it seems that he has either not taken it too seriously or the website handling staff is unable to remove the tag.
The only action that was taken was to upload a note on the website stopping people from donating through the PayPal account. Yet ore has to be revealed and we will keep posting updates about the incident.
