Google has snatched Apple’s title as the World’s most valuable brand
Since five years Apple has been on top of World’s most valuable brand. In 2017 Google has replaced the brand.
Brand Finance is a business valuation and consultancy firm. The firm released a ‘Global 500 2017’ list that featured the value if many companies.
According to the their report, value of Google rose to new level. From 2016 it accelerated to 24%. So its world valuable brand of the year.
The new value is $109.5 billion. On the other hand the BV if Apple fell from $145.9 billion to about $107 billion.
According to report,
“Google remains largely unchallenged in its core search business, which is the mainstay of its advertising income. Ad revenues were up 20% in 2016, despite a fall in cost per click, as ad budgets are increasingly directed online. Desktop advertising remains far more lucrative than mobile, despite its prematurely diagnosed decline.
Increasing revenues are not the only explanation for Google’s success however. Its brand strength score is up by two points indicating improving underlying brand equity.”
Apple ruled the throne since five years. There was a valid reason this Apple has innovative products and a user-friendly interface. To the surprise and dismay of many the Apple has failed to maintain the top position.
As per the report,
“Put simply, Apple has over-exploited the goodwill of its customers; it has failed to generate significant revenues from newer products such as the Apple Watch and cannot demonstrate that genuinely innovative technologies desired by consumers are in the pipeline. Its brand has lost its luster and must now compete on an increasingly level playing field not just with traditional rival Samsung, but a slew of Chinese brands such as Huawei and OnePlus in the Smartphone market, Apple’s key source of profitability.”
On the third position was Amazon, AT&T stood 4th and Microsoft managed to grab 5th position. Samsung bagged 6th position, Verizon and Wal-Mart had 7 and 8 positions respectively. Facebook was on the 9th place.
