TEVTA to setup Pakistan’s first University of Technical and Vocational Education
Finally! Skill development in Pakistan is started. Punjab is all set to welcome Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA); its first vocational training university, set up in collaboration with the Chinese Tianjin University of Technical Education (TUTE).
The spokesperson of TEVTA testified to the signing of the agreement between Irfan Qaisar Sheikh, the Chairperson of TEVTA and Liu Xin, the President of TUTE, in Tianjan, leading to the establishment of University of Technical and Vocational Education (UTVE).
As per the agreement none-degree courses are to be taught at University of Technical and Vocational Education (UTVE) including the courses of Information Technology, Automobile, Electronics and many others.
This the spokesperson, believed, would be a step towards Chief Minister’s vision of establishment of UTVE and would lay the foundations of economic boom in the near future by training the youth for variety of technicalities.
The plan does seem attractive but the credentials would only be proved as the time rolls on. Hopefully this step will help to reduce unemployment in Pakistan. Govt. e-rozgaar program also helping youth to get jobs but most of unemployment is due to lack of skills and technical education. This Vocational education university will really bring the change in society and definitely will overcome the unemployment ratio in the country.
