Govt. to Setup National Incubation Center in Quetta
Teamup is building a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation for Startups in Pakistan. According to the news, Government plans to setup National Incubation Center in Quetta.
NIC has already been launched in the large cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. The NIC Karachi has also won the award.
National ICT R&D fund is now open for suggestions and registrations from qualified and licensed legal entities to help support NIC program in Quetta. The Incubation center in Quetta will be managed by these legal entities.
The legal entities are required to apply against RFP. The major requirements are that these entities should be:
- On Active Taxpayers List of FBR,
- Have sound financial backing,
- Should have professional management team,
- Have relevant experience in ICT sector.
The government aims Pakistan to become a Digital Country. This is the reason they are establishing these NICs. The NIC in Quetta would be run on the funds from National ICT R&D Fund.
It would work just like the incubation center at Islamabad.
