In February 2014, the hit mobile game Flappy Bird suddenly disappeared from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store at the peak of its popularity. The game, which had become a global sensation and was reportedly earning $50,000 a day, was pulled by its creator, Dong Nguyen, who felt overwhelmed by the attention it brought.

Nguyen had initially designed Flappy Bird as a simple game to play in short, relaxing moments. However, its addictive nature led him to remove it, stating, “It has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down this game. It’s gone forever.”

Now, after a decade, game is making a comeback. The rights to the game have been acquired by The Flappy Bird Foundation, signaling its return. The new version of Flappy Bird is expected to offer enhanced features, though details on how it will be monetized remain unclear. Early versions are slated for release in Q3 of 2024, with a full launch on both app stores by 2025.

The most recent Call of Duty game, which debuted on October 28 this year, shattered all prior Call of Duty game records within three days of release. Soon after its release, the video game raked in a staggering $800 million in worldwide sales. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a revival of the original Modern Warfare series, comes after the wildly successful Modern Warfare from 2019. It should not be confused with Modern Warfare 1, 2, or 3.

Even if Modern Warfare is no longer the best-selling CoD game, Activision has yet to disclose the precise amount of copies that have been sold worldwide. In 2011, Modern Warfare 3 was the best-selling Call of Duty title prior to the release of Modern Warfare 2. A staggering $650 million was made in the first five days.

Bobby Kotick, the CEO of the company, commended the Call of Duty team for their dedication and the magic they created using their amazing talent and technology. He also gave gratitude to the worldwide gaming community that enjoys and connects with Call of Duty.
For those worried about the Activision acquisition, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has assured them that Call of Duty will remain on PlayStation for as long as the console is in production. Our intention is to keep shipping Call of Duty on PlayStation consoles as long as there are any available. A US store is accused of selling copies of God of War Ragnarok weeks ahead of its scheduled release date, in violation of the game’s “street date.” Some players are currently experiencing the adventure without being bound by NDAs and spoiler agreements as a result.

Santa Monica Studio, the game’s developers, have issued a statement requesting everyone to be considerate of fans who don’t want the game to be spoiled and to try and avoid using much of the internet for the next week given how simple it is to find footage at the moment—some YouTube videos have millions of views.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced TikTok, the leading destination for short-form videos, as a sponsor for the ODI series and one-off Twenty20I being played as part of the historic tour of Australia to Pakistan.

TikTok will be the presenting sponsor for the three-match ODI series, which will commence at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from March 29, and associate sponsor for the T20I game. The sponsorship comes after the title sponsorship of the Test series. Earlier, TikTok was also announced as the entertainment partner of Pakistan Super League 7 and 8 and the title sponsor of the PSL anthem for the latest season.

The PCB, who are now also officially on TikTok, have entertained cricket fans on the platform throughout the partnership by sharing the highlights of the current and previous matches, fans reactions, favourite moments and exciting challenges. On Thursday, hackers broke into Electronic Arts’ servers and stole key game files for popular games including FIFA 21.

According to reports, these data are now sold on the dark web. The server includes FIFA 21 source code and its matching server code. The news media said it also snatched away: the source code of Frostbite, the engine that powers popular EA games such as “Battlefield”.

EA confirmed the hacking attack and pointed out that this is not a ransomware attack, and there is no personal data or info in the breached files. They are investigating a recent intrusion on their network, in which a small amount of game source code and related tools were stolen.

EA spokesperson said, “The player data has not been accessed, and there is no reason to believe that there is any risk to player privacy. After the incident, EA has made security improvements and it is not expected to have an impact on their games or business.”

As part of the ongoing criminal investigation, they are actively cooperating with law enforcement officials and other experts.

It is reported that the hackers first purchased a stolen cookie that allowed them to access the Slack channel used by the company, thereby disrupting EA’s network. From there, they sent a message to IT support and gained access to the EA company A multi-factor authentication token for the network.

This hacking attack occurred before this year’s E3 Game Conference, which is scheduled to start on June 12.

The first season of the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) South Asian Championships is scheduled to start on June 10th.

Dubai-based Schon Group met the reserve price of $5.2 million per year for an eight year contract, in a contest that had 10 bidders.

Asher Schon and Khizer Schon, the sons of the founder of Schon Group, led the deputation, coming out victors at the end.
The Schon Group is one of the richest families of Pakistan, found in 1982 in Singapore by Nasir Schon. The current affairs are managed by the current generation, Asher and Khizer Schon.

Off late the group has been active in investments, perhaps in a bid to reclaim its golden era of 1995, when it owned National Fibres, Schon Bank, Schon Textiles and Pak-China Fertilizers.
