This situation is not unique to Cheetay, as Airlift, despite raising an $85 million round, announced its shutdown in June 2022. The dominance of foodpanda in the restaurant aggregator space further compounded Cheetay’s troubles, ultimately leading to the decision to shut down all operations, including the quick commerce business.

Dastgyr’s Struggle

Another significant player, Dastgyr Technologies, a B2B eCommerce marketplace, finds itself in a similar predicament. Competing with Bazaar, Retailo, and the now-collapsed Jugnu, Dastgyr has decided to cut its workforce by 50%-60%. Co-founder Muhammad Owais Qureshi, in a company-wide email, expressed the difficulty of reducing the team and attributed it to the “global and local political and financial climate” and an “unforeseen economic crisis.”

With over 90 employees, Paymob is now aggressively downsizing, affecting 35%-50% of its workforce. At the Pakistani Consulate’s March 23rd Pakistan Day event, the IPG Group Pakistan successfully launched HBL and MCB Bank’s ‘Roshan Raho’ RDA campaign. Higher authorities, dignitaries, and the professional Pakistani community in Muscat and Riyadh were all enthusiastic about both gatherings.

The goal of the international push is to promote the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) effort, which is being carried out in partnership with Pakistan’s major banks, to guarantee that overseas Pakistanis are educated about investment opportunities and new digital banking systems.

Careem Pay has received an In-Principle-Approval (IPA) for an Electronic Money Institution license from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) (EMI).

Careem Pay, the company’s fintech subsidiary, has started in Pakistan as a separate corporation with intentions to invest $50 million in the country’s fintech ecosystem. It will be led by General Manager Noman Khurshid.Subject to SBP final clearance, Careem Pay will be able to provide convenient and accessible financial services to 9+ million Customers, 800,000 Captains, and 3000+ merchants both on and off the Careem App.

Careem Pay will offer services such as bill payments, government and education fees, peer-to-peer (P2P) transfer, and wallet cash-outs once it receives operational readiness from SBP. Careem Pay plans to offer cards, inward foreign remittance services, and services that allow customers and merchants to make and receive online and offline payments in following phases, subject to SBP clearance.

This is in addition to Careem Pay’s existing capabilities, which include payment across all Careem services, such as ride-hailing and food delivery, as well as P2P credit transfers and mobile top-ups within the app.

Supernet Limited seeks to generate Rs475 million by selling 18.81 percent of its post-offering share capital in an Initial Offering.

Fresh equity of Rs275 million in Supernet and a Rs200 million ‘Offer for Sale’ by Telecard Limited would make up the capital raised by listing the company on the GEM Board of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).Supernet is the first technological firm to be listed on the PSX’s GEM Board.

The issue comprises of 21,111,121 Ordinary Shares with a face value of Rs10 apiece, representing 18.81 percent of Supernet’s total post-offering paid up capital.On April 12-13, the entire issue will be offered through Book Building, with registration beginning on April 7 at a Floor Price of Rs22.50 per share, including a Rs12.50 premium per share. The pricing band’s top limit will not be more than 40% of the Floor Price.

Super Net is being sold for an FY22 PE of 6.7, compared to an average IT sector PE of 22X, providing investors with tremendous value. Telecard is offering 8,888,889 shares as an Offer for Sale, while the remaining 12,222,232 shares are being offered as fresh equity.
